Why Should I Grow It?
This hosta came to us a few years ago and I was instantly in love. Hosta 'Monkey Business' is from Marco Fransen and is a sport of 'Funky Monkey' which came from Alttara Scheer. The leaves do not look real as they are very thick and shiny like plastic. The long arching leaves are nicely rippled and held on upright dark red petioles. The margins start off a misted green and brighten to a nice yellow. If it gets enough sun the margin even turns parchment white by late summer. This one gets better as the season progresses. I put mine next to a large piece of driftwood to help accent it and I love seeing this one in my garden all summer.
